About this deal

He had a handsome, arrogant face, and the makings of a beard that suggested he wasn’t too much older than her, but he also had the perfectly disciplined posture and commanding presence of an experienced soldier. I recommend it, but do so conditionally because I can't possibly tell you if this book is worth your time until/unless I read on. One of the most curious things about the mastons was their ability to cross from abbey to abbey without horse or wagon. I guess it creates a lot of Easter eggs for those of us who have read *all* the books but multidimensional stuff starts to go over my head sometimes.

While I absolutely love The Kingfountain series I have never been as huge a fan of the Muirwood books so I did not start this book with high expectations but I was very quickly won over. A vacation in Cozumel sounds like the perfect escape, but for Jonathan Roth and his family, it’s a trap. I was also blessed to work with Adrienne Procaccini as my new editor at 47North who is a huge medieval history fan and a real Jedi.Gifts are numerous and can include, Firetaming, Healing, Invocation (understanding and working Leerings), Meekness, Seering (seeing past or future), and Xenoglossia (languages).

The last novel I completed in high school was Tho Death Bar the Way , and it was my first attempt at a martial arts/romance. I was given a free copy of The Druid by Jeff Wheeler (author), 47North (publisher) and Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. Jeff lives in the Rocky Mountains and is a husband, father of five, and devout member of his church. But 75% of the book is spent on the prelude and when the apprentice finally sets out on her own the obstacles she faces seem pretty minor and her quest isn't very exciting or particularly dangerous.Wheeler’s stories are a great palate cleanser and an excellent light read that will draw you in further and further into the story until you realize you’ve read 20+ books in the series and wish there were more. We decided to give it a try and named it Deep Magic after a reference in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and launched in June 2002. I don't generally go for the epic fantasy tomes that all-too-frequently want to be Tolkien but fall so painfully short.

And while I did read it in just a few hours I still didn't feel that connection I did with the earlier books. July 9, 2022: Started reading The Druid – Wheeler’s 2022 publication – a part of his Muirwood series – OK, good world building, good character development, nothing special but I like his writing, a good solid 3 star book.We finished our work long ago,” said Llewellyn—the shortest of the four—while puffing out his chest. Jeff Wheeler is the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the First Argentines series (Knight’s Ransom, Warrior’s Ransom, Lady’s Ransom, and Fate’s Ransom); the Grave Kingdom series; the Harbinger and Kingfountain series; the Legends and Covenant of Muirwood trilogies; the Whispers from Mirrowen trilogy; and the Landmoor novels. Brushing the dirt from her hands, Eilean stared at the ridges of earth, spaced apart just so, and imagined what the field would look like when it was blooming with blue flowers. We welcome respectful dialogue related to speculative fiction in literature, games, film, and the wider world. Mortified, Eilean followed along, and they reached the four young men—Aisic, Bryant, Ely, and Llewellyn. Her time as a wretched is almost up unless she decides to continue serving the kindhearted 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗹 after her 18 years of servitude. Then she’s chosen to assist in establishing the new abbey of Muirwood, now the site of a castle in the swamps of Bearden Muir. But I’m so grateful I did it and especially grateful for my publisher always encouraging me to take risks.Everyone helped out, some carrying pitchers, some bowls with loaves, others trays of cheeses, nuts, and gooseberries. Eilean is a wretched living in Tintern Abbey when the Aldermaston informs her that she will be leaving to help build a new Abbey at Muirwood. There will be familiar elements, to be sure, relating to the magic of the Medium, Leerings, etc, but the politics back then were different and you’ll be joining the world just as things are about to change forever.
