There are different icons on the die and the same on the cards when it is your turn you have to choose easy medium or hard and then roll the die. Well, right away I realized that this is going to be a pretty slow moving game, when you think of the time that it takes to plan, look for pieces and build something out of Legos, that looks enough like the item for people to guess what it is. As you can imagine, this makes for a very boring game waiting for your turn watching a couple of people build for 10-15 minutes, then you build for 30 seconds, then they take their turns again. During our “Tasting” of the game, we were fortunate to have one player who had never really played with LEGOs. Creationary was designed by LEGO Game designer, and initial conceptualizer of the whole, shall we say, concept of LEGO Games: Cephas Howard.

The winner will selected randomly and will be announced on the blog at the top of this post on Friday 1st October.I would definitely recommend this game to any one that is into Legos or other building blocks or to anyone who have a creative imagination. This game is a very creative game to play with building legos, rather than just following the directions of putting together a themed Lego set.

Suitable for 3 to 8 players, the Creationary box also contains loads of LEGO bricks, a microfigure and a minifigure, game play cards and the innovative dice that can even be assembled in various different ways.And with three difficulty levels to choose from (although we never made it past basic bearing in mind we were playing with a six year old and a three year old), you can make it as easy or difficult as you want. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. It helped to add our own stash of LEGOs to the ones included; the small selection made creating certain items very difficult. Three levels of difficulty mean you can show off your building skills while the other players guess what it is your creating. I must confess I am usually somewhat challenged when greeted by a big box of random LEGO, as I much prefer to build things from a set of instructions.

This is something you only find in LEGO Games and maybe among a few enlightened physical educators – the idea that people might actually choose to do something more challenging, not because they get more points for it, but simply because it is more fun. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend this to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.Eventually, we abandoned the game in favor of simply looking at the cards, and challenging ourselves to build models of the items pictured. The only difficulty was prising the creations back off Mylo who was keen to play with each one after it was made, which was fine until we suddenly needed a part of that creation for the next one. With three levels of difficulty you can show off your building skills, while the others guess what you are creating.

In addition to all 341 pieces, you get a sorting tray, which, given the intensity of having to build something as quickly as possible, proves to be a most constructive tool for the construction constructor. We could change the type of game that we played depending on how many children were playing and the ages of the kids playing. I thought the game sounded like a great idea for a board game however it simply doesn't work as one.
