And since we have started pointing out the flaws in EMUI that you probably will not hear about anywhere else, let us also point out some other weird decisions that Huawei has made. For example, you do have a raise to wake function on the P30 Pro, which works mostly well, but for some weird reason is disabled by default and hidden in settings. It’s almost like Huawei does not want you to use the coolest features in its interface!

The Mate had a very slight greenish cast, while this one here has more balanced colors and just looks nicer.I have spent the last week using the P30 Pro as my daily driver and most importantly, I have had this phone as my go-to camera on a trip to Paris, France, and I was eager to get some great photos. That's a solid outlay, meaning mostly flagship results here. We've had one or two glitches and app crashes in this phone - which we didn't get when moving into the Pro - but after some software updates things smoothed out to operate smoothly. On the base of the P30 Pro a central USB-C port is flanked by a speaker on one side and the SIM tray on the other. The SIM tray can hold two nanoSIM cards, providing dual-SIM capabilities, but you can opt to use the second slot to expand the storage on the handset instead.It might not look like much has changed on the surface but dig a little deeper and you’ll find a smorgasbord of big changes that go a long way towards justifying that sky-high price. Its specifications remain the same, as the P30 Pro uses an AMOLED panel yet again and the resolution is 2,340 x 1,080. You might think this is a bit of a downgrade on the 1,440p display offered by the Mate 20 Pro, but this lower-resolution screen has the added benefit of prolonged battery life, which I’ll discuss in further detail later on. Huawei appears to be aware of this, sort of, as in some markets it provides a translucent silicone case in the box with the phone, providing some much-needed grip and light protection while not spoiling the design. However, those in the UK won't get this in the box.Instead, the P30 Pro, like the Mate 20-series of phones before it, only supports Huawei’s nano memory cards. These are physically smaller but more expensive than their micro-sized equivalents, and so make almost no sense whatsoever. Still, with at least 128GB of internal storage, you probably won’t need one anyway. Huawei P30 Pro review: Verdict Setting up fingerprints on the scanner is a little time-consuming, with a number of scans required for each digit you register – we’d recommend both thumbs and forefingers for ease of use. Once set up though, the scanner works with great accuracy and speed.
