About this deal

I’ll be upfront with you. Insense Ultramarine doesn’t play out the same on every skin type. The floral heart notes tend to lean a little artificial on some guys. So, it’s not a guaranteed blind buy success. But a Givenchy cologne for men that costs less than 50 dollars? You can afford to take a punt. Are you starting to see a pattern here? The Givenchy Gentleman range may be expansive, but Boisee is no generic clone. Released in 2020, It’s a mature, smooth fragrance for well-suited and booted men. The fragrance starts out sooooo deliciously almond-like, but the green notes (whatever that is supposed to be) leave a very fresh impression. Like mowing grass in the morning sun. The lemon and tangerine also help to make you think less about dessert. As is almost always the case with citrus fruits, these too will soon be gone, but first they will help the floral components to take off, which still harmonises well with the GREEN NOTES! Now Vanilla and Tonka are coming over to join in. Which is almost always a must with a good gourmet fragrance. But what is this? Oh, the musty cedar. What are you doing here? But now my nose finds this disturbing for the overall impression. Note to self: You are definitely not a cedar friend! However, the fragrance as a whole does not go through too remarkable a course, the ingredients are beautifully coordinated and complement each other very well. One is almost tempted to nibble on oneself because the marzipan note is so delicious ;-D At the same time I bought the Pi Extreme a little later, which is very similar to the original Pi, but holds better. The description fits almost 1:1 also to the.

A week later I asked my mother to buy me the perfume. Even though it was quite a high price for me at the time, I wanted it by all means. My mother agreed, because I was a teenager (15 years old), who was already satisfied with small things and had no big needs or wishes. I was beaming like a honey cake horse when I helped the scent in my hand and could wear it directly to the meeting with my friends. I've been cold-shouldering Pi of Givenchy for years. He's been in the perfumeries for almost 20 years now and Givenchy have been producing some very nice fragrances which are also in my possession.

Givenchy Pour Homme is the go-scent for the classy man of all seasons. Whether you spritz it in the chill of winter or the heat of summer, it won’t disappoint. Its citrus notes keep it fresh and airy in the warmer months, while the vetiver and cedar work well when the temperature takes a nosedive. This morning he was then allowed the first time on my skin and the start was divine. A wonderful Oriental, typical for this time, in which my fragrance-faible really blossomed. There were spices that gave a nice edge to the scent, which comes across quite sweet right from the start. Plus a slightly fresh note and a few florals. My beloved anise (yes, I like it!!) could be found and I also liked the rose geranium here, although again in combination with the tonka bean. Yes, if a fragrance is done really well, this can work and then nothing bites.

This classy scent is subtly sweet and warm with an enticing powdered cream aroma and just enough spicy depth to make it a date-night contender. Dry down is a balance of iris and woods, with a hint of underlying patchouli. You may notice some similarities to Gentleman Reserve Privee but there is a key difference that sets them apart. Privee is boozy while Boisee is more chocolatey thanks to the cacao pod note. Alberto and me, it's a thing. With the exception of my beloved Vétiver d'Hivèr by Armani Privé, I usually can't do much with his fragrances. Very few of them I find directly bad, but there are usually so tiny disturbing factors, which is why I just do not find a real access to the fragrances. Yes, I think we are simply not compatible. There should be yes also with fragrances. Unfortunately, Pi is very dimmed there. Since I only know the current version, I cannot compare it with the original version. But it should have been much more persevering and stronger. I've already read this here several times in comments and statements. At some point, the time came when I started to spend a lot of time with my older cousin again (with us it's ups and downs - sometimes we meet for months, sometimes not for years). Anyway, I got to know him as a perfume enthusiast. I have to say that he very often changes his personality and therefore develops new interests. When we strolled through Frankfurt's city center in spring, he took me to a Douglas, because he wanted to show me his favorite fragrances. One of them was Givenchy Pi. I was rather bored, because at that time I didn't have a nose for sniffing through countless scents. But he insisted that I should spray Givenchy Pi on my wrist. No sooner said than done: he sprayed it on me generously and I sniffed at it carefully first. Since I didn't have such a strong sense of smell yet, I couldn't really assign all the ingredients because I was rather able to do everything at once. But still I liked it. For me it was a very noble smell, which I had never smelled before. Nevertheless, I somehow had an image of marzipan in my head - even today. When we were on our way home, I had to smell all the time on my wrist, because for me it was like a new world opened by this scent. In my opinion Pi is very well balanced, aromatic and green notes, which are not defined in more detail, open the fragrance, together with some herbs, which are also not too clear to smell. I only perceive citrus very weakly. Pi’s opening is green-tinged with mandarin, tarragon, rosemary, and basil notes. The dry down unveils earthier spices with powdery florals, which transition to the star of the show – the base. Here, smooth vanilla mingles with nutty almond and tonka bean. The overall effect is rich, romantic, and unique. Pi is the perfect fall fragrance and date-night go-to.

In summary, I must note that this fragrance has convinced me in the end but much more than all the tonka bombs, which are funny all declared for men, which were thrown in recent years in masses on the market. For me, this kind of fragrance is rather unisex anyway, but I don't need to tell you that. Yes, it has its charms all things considered. And was certainly quite great as a vintage. The heart note seems to mix with the base immediately, because after a short time Pi sets itself something and the marzipan note comes out quite clearly. For me, this is an enriched marzipan, with vanilla, some sugar and floral notes, but everything is very fine and unobtrusive. A modern re-imagining of a classic 70’s scent. Givenchy Gentleman EDP is the G.O.A.T for guys yearning for an attractive, grown-up cologne. While my search for “the cologne to end all colognes” will never cease, this one comes close. Let me introduce you to a lesser-known gem in the Givenchy cologne lineup; Givenchy Insense Ultramarine. This 1994 classic offering is by far the best Givenchy cologne for men wanting a splashy summer scent.

Whether you’re a vanilla cologne virgin or a die-hard fan, Givenchy Pi is a sugary scent with some serious soul. Now Pi found his way to me about 4 years ago and since then I like to wear him especially in the colder season. I think he needs temperatures below +10 degrees to really come into his own. There's something warming and flattering about him I myself always feel a little more comfortable in the cooler season than in summer. This is not to say that I start swearing when the thermometer reads 30 degrees or more. I then only screw in my activities. One could almost claim that the shelf life does not exceed the period corresponding to the number Pi, and that one is no longer perceived within a radius of 3.141...m.
