About this deal

The connections between the Cambridge Audio CXA81 vs CXA61 are almost similar with slight differences as mentioned above. And that story continues with its latest entry-level 607 S3 speakers. The smallest and most affordable stereo speaker that B&W makes (even if that 'budget' price has increased in the last couple of years), the new 607 S3 replaces the previous Award-winning 607 S2 Anniversary Edition speakers and delivers a significantly improved performance.

For a small room, the deep bass of Q350 is enough for most of the people listening to music or movies. Some listeners even plugged the port to reduce bass. Ideal for quality stereo in medium to large-sized rooms or as part of a superior AV system, the KEF Q750 is the complete all-rounder. I think the most natural upgrade would be the 3030i. Firstly, price isn't everything. Thoughtful engineering doesn't necessarily have to cost a lot. The 3030i is in a whole other league than the 3020. Firstly, loads more bass. Secondly, I felt the 3020 was as little harsh at certain frequencies...the 3030i is smooth as silk, with surprisingly little cabinet resonance and a smooth frequency response. The only issue you may have is that it is quite a large speaker. They seem relatively easy to drive. On that note, the difference between 88db and 87db sensitivity is basically not worth worrying about. The difference between 84db and 90db sensitivity...that's a little more to consider. I run the 3030i speakers on a 60w into 8Ohm amp, but they work just fine on my other amp which is 30w into 8Ohm. Typically, the lower the lowest frequency, the deeper the bass. These two models differ in frequency response. From the table below it shows that Q150 can reach a lower frequency than Q350 which will deliver more bass. Power I absolutely love it for it's intended use. With the change to working more from home I've added a desk to the rear of my home theatre room and started using the system more for music, something I never really planned to do.

This extra bass power means the 606 S3 speakers aren’t quite as prone to the slightly excitable and forward treble of its lively 607 S3 sibling, but the older siblings' more level-headed, staid character comes at the expense of that charming and immediately entertaining sound we like so much in the new 607 S3.

However, if you are considering buying some amp, then Sennheiser GSX 1000 and 1200 could be your perfect choice, you can take a deep look. What are the similarities? The very first thing I noticed - and it was quite uncanny - was the ability of the Q150 to be able to delineate the fine (even very minute) differences among different power amps. The Wharfedale D320's are very nice also, but they did not have the ability to resolve the differences among some amps that the KEF Q150 could easily render. The positives about this is that you realize what a wonderful transducer system that the Q150 is - however, the negative that may result is that you may also discover that some of your previously favorite amps, may not be up to task with better speakers (such as the Q150's). Intuitive software allows the most inexperienced or occasional operator to rapidly enter and store their own process data. For convenience a number of typical sputtering and carbon coating recipes are already stored but also allows the user to create their own. Software detects failure to achieve vacuum in a set period of time and shuts down the process in case of vacuum leak, which ensures pump protection from overheating. Automatic, controlled carbon rod evaporation for TEM applications A new damped loading system greatly reduces distortion, giving a smoother, more detailed top-end. The "tangerine" wave guide system helps the treble integrate more smoothly with the mid-range. Another improvement with the Q750 is the sealed top compartment - meaning that treble and mid-range aren't affected by the air movements from the bass units. Essentially, this ensures a much dynamic sound range with farther coverage and wider sound dispersion. This effect is followed by the KEF’s proprietary “tangerine” waveguide that provides more gain for lesser power consumption.I thought those two knobs were level controls which is surprising in a passive speaker. Turns out they are just shunting knobs that short the highs and lows together. Or disconnect them if you want to bi-wire wire/bi-amp them.
