About this deal

And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest; eat, drink, be merry."'

If I have, as it were, fought "wild beasts" here in Ephesus simply from human motives, what have I gained? But if the dead are not raised to life, then, as the saying goes, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we will die."

As most of you know, I LOVE my family. We are fun, funny and just overall good people. No bias here though. I think we are one of those rare families in that in our immediate family, we are super close. We have our moments but generally we get along. Throw the cousins in there and it is one big party! If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die.

and I shall say to myself, “Now as for you, you have so many good things stored up for many years, rest, eat, drink, be merry!”’ And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ After all the fun family time at Thanksgiving, we will get to head up to Champaign to celebrate my niece's FIRST birthday! I can't believe she is already ONE!! I love her to death and would do anything for her. It should be a great day! If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus as a mere man, what good did that do me? If the dead are not raised, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. Strong's 3498: (a) adj: dead, lifeless, subject to death, mortal, (b) noun: a dead body, a corpse. From an apparently primary nekus; dead.Ye have said, It is vain to serve God: and what profit is it that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts? … So I commend enjoyment because there's nothing better for people to do under the sun but to eat, drink, and be glad. This is what will accompany them in their hard work, during the lifetime that God gives under the sun." - Common English Bible Not that I haven’t always ALSO been a loving, giving, well-meaning, of service, helpful, insightful, high-functioning, achieving, loyal person. But there was that other aspect that rendered me… challenging. A wounded animal is sometimes a little rough around the edges, for sure. Lately, I have had something on my mind that has been driving me CRAZY and it all stems from Facebook. Don't get me wrong, I am an avid facebook member and enjoying seeing what is going on in people's lives that I care about. But my goodness, some people have taken it WAY TO FAR!!! I would have never thought Facebook would be a platform for people's ridiculous rants about the most controversial subjects. In my opinion, wrong forum!! I don't really care about Billy's opinion on...well on anything now that I think about it! I guess the biggest frustration for me is when someone posts about something that is truly controversial and then almost appears offended when people disagree or call them out on their comments. Uh, shouldn't that be expected?? Differing opinions are what makes this world go round! I know I can always hide this stuff or unfriend people but it is like a car accident...I can't take my eyes away from it! I have a feeling that as we get closer to the election, this is only going to get worse! I also don't like when people use Facebook ina hurtful way. I have a very great friend who has fallen victim to this and it makes me CRAZY! Not only did said person make her feel stupid, he really hurt her fellings as well!!! NOT COOL!! It is really easy to have a strong opinion on something from behind your computer. If you want people to respect you and your opinions, I suggest not posting them all over facebook! It makes you look immature and kind of silly!! If you want a platform to express your opinions...START A BLOG!

If I fought wild animals in Ephesus with only human hope, what good did that do me? If the dead are not raised, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. So I am convinced that we should enjoy ourselves, because the only pleasure we have in this life is eating and drinking and enjoying ourselves. We can at least do this as we labor during the life that God has given us in this world." - Good News Translation Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all. For man does not know his time. Like fish that are taken in an evil net, and like birds that are caught in a snare, so the children of man are snared at an evil time, when it suddenly falls upon them."- Ecclesiastes 9:11-12 If I fought with animals at Ephesus for human purposes, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, then "let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die."To “eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow we die”—to live life for pleasure’s sake alone—goes against the biblical mindset to “count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11). The Lord has called believers to live a holy life (1 Peter 1:16), but we cannot be holy without His help and guidance from the Holy Spirit. A godly life requires a choice to follow God’s will and leave our old, pleasure-seeking ways behind (Romans 12:1–2). And I will say to myself, “You have many goods stored up for many years to come; relax, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!”’

Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.”- Ecclesiastes 8:15 (KJV) Strong's 2192: To have, hold, possess. Including an alternate form scheo skheh'-o; a primary verb; to hold.Strong's 2181: Ephesus, a coast city, capital of the Roman province Asia. Probably of foreign origin; Ephesus, a city of Asia Minor.
