About this deal

A closer look to the trainers list reveals that, unfortunately, this deck will suffer from the lack of drawing power and thus the inconsistency. It is still thin however and you may want to enhance it with some trainers from the boosters, depending on your luck. Most notable difference from the previous Build and Battle boxes is that Brilliant Stars edition contains ready-to-play decks. Cards you’ll get there will be different from what’s in your physical pack since they are randomly generated at the time of opening. Thinking into the future, I would pick up Build and Battle Stadium again, but depending on the promos and the actual set I guess.

There are also prerelease tournaments where you’re going to need this product, or at least a single Build and Battle box. Cards in the decks can vary but they’ll often be centered around the included promo so there can be many combinations. As a reminder, cards from a new expansion are normally tournament-legal the second Friday following the set’s release so players have some time to get and test them.In the deck I also got Infernape evolution chain (2 copies of each), Mothim which is a free retreater (and resistant to Fighting) and thus super useful in prerelease formats and a Liepard as a supporter Pokémon (non Promo version). That’s why you may not need an extra energy pack from the Stadium box if you just want to try these decks, head-to-head. Additionally, in the each box you’ll find 4 standard Brilliant Stars boosters, collection checklist, a code card for unlocking the box in Pokémon TCG Online and most importantly, a 40-card ready-to-play deck. Booster packs are standard Pokémon booster products containing 10 game cards each and a code card to unlock a virtual booster pack in Pokémon TCG Online. With the Battle Stadium feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, you’ll be able to use the internet to enjoy battling Trainers from all over the world.

If you’re considering one of the recent Stadium products, pick up the Brilliant Stars edition - promos look great and are quite handy even for competitive play, and the set itself is probably one of the best in recent history. In the second deck I got an extra two Lucario besides my promo and also the useful Mothim which is not weak against the Fire - other deck’s type. However, with 12 boosters in total, a couple of promos you cannot get anywhere else and some extra goodies, there’s an audience for it for sure. Various kinds of rules may govern these special competitions in which you compete to see how high you can place in the rankings. In the past, Build and Battle boxes would usually include a pack of 23 cards where you’d have to build something out of them combining with the cards from accompanying boosters. The actual Build and Battle package is a deck box which can easily fit more than 60 sleeved cards for carrying around. It’s not competitive at all for tournaments, but I find it awesome for a casual play with your family and kids and reminds how Pokémon TCG used to be when everything started. You’ll also get a promo card when you redeem the code in PTCGO but it doesn’t has to be the same you actually got in your box. This special prerelease product usually comes before the actual set release and offers some interesting insight into the upcoming set and is also used in prerelease tournaments. In these battles, you will be able to test your battle skills against Pokémon Trainers from all over the world.
