Her first book Everything I Know About Love became a top five Sunday Times bestseller in its first week of publication and won a National Book Award (UK) for Autobiography of the Year.i’ve loved dolly’s previous 2 books: her memoir everything i know about love and her fiction debut ghosts, so i’m looking forward to whatever she does next. I did find most of the questions and answers to be for those quite a bit younger than myself, but there are a few that pertain to Gen X readers. Coming to the world in tandem with Dolly Alderton’s novel Good Material, Dear Dolly is a collection of her insights and empathy towards readers asking questions about love, loneliness and human connection. In fact, it’s not ‘pointless drivel’ when it is someone’s experience and Dolly treats these problems with respect, warmth and wit, which is exactly the type of writing I enjoy.

Dolly has an incredible ability to put herself in another person's shoes, something that sometimes seems so easy, but can actually turn out to be quite difficult.Although I didn't love Everything I Know About Love at the time I read it (and have already reached the conclusion that it was a matter of right book-wrong time), I really like Dolly's writing.
