About this deal

The TX4 Mid is one of the most versatile, all-rounded pieces of footwear available; whether you're climbing, scrambling, trekking or simply walking around town, they're exceptionally comfortable, well made and perfect for almost every outdoor pursuit.

Lacing: Mythos patented lacing system, very low to ensure better foot support and optimal adjustment of the shoe volume Impact Brake System Designed by Vibram, this innovative system integrated into the sole absorbs impacts, improves grip on descents and helps on ascents by boosting traction. Thanks to the arrangement of the sole studs, the IBS offers clear advantages to the user by reducing the negative impact with the ground and placing less strain on the jointsLa Sportivahave transferred their knowledge from stiffer mountain boots into their approach range, naming it their STBControl System. Essentially, the upper wraps around the midsoleat the middle of the shoe which enhances stability on traverses and rough terrain. This also provides a more supportive and snug fit, in turn increasing the comfort and precision while climbing. The Boulder X set the bar extremely high as the gold standard of approach shoe. But La Sportiva has been quietly tweaking designs and stealing bits from their Boulder X and climbing boot lineups to create the all new Traverse X series of approach shoes and boots. Ventilation plays a crucial part in your hiking experience. You want to walk in a pair of hiking boots or mountaineering boots that allow your feet to breathe but not so open that they pose a risk to injuries. Cushioning under the heel is moderate and as I would expect from an approach shoe while the mid and front areas only have light cushioning. It’s worth remembering that this isn’t a general hiking boot so I wouldn’t expect it to be as heavy or have as much padding. There are no additional costs or duties on products marketed in countries within the European Union. Customers will not have to pay anything on delivery.

Finding the right hiking shoes or hiking boots for your outdoor activities is vital for the health of your feet. You want to ensure you get the perfect hiking shoes or mountaineering boots that fit and blend with where and how you walk. High resistance to abrasion and low weight is provided thanks to the PU Techlite rand and protective rubber top cap. Gore-Tex membrane : Shoes made with a Gore-Tex membrane are designed for use in rain, snow and cold weather. They combine durable waterproofing with improved breathability and optimal insulation against the cold, making them ideal for a wide range of outdoor activities. Stand on the A4 paper with your heel pressed firmly against the wall and your foot pointed forward with the edge of your big toe aligned with the edge of the paper. The TX series include three variations, TX2 – a climbing focused approach shoe, TX3 – mix terrain walking shoe, and TX4 – a mountaineering model designed for technical routes, scrambling and hiking. In this case I opted for the TX4 with a Goretex lining for added protection against the infamous Welsh weather…..rain not being an uncommon factor even in the summer season. A lightweight and comfortable mountaineering boot for hillwalking, via ferrata and approach routes - the La Sportiva TX4 Mid GTX! I would highly recommend looking at the rest of the TX shoe range to see if there is something that could fit your needs. They come in several colour options (mine being the carbon/flame combo), they do a mid-version of the TX4 for added ankle protection and an unlined version for dry environments that will ultimately be more breathable. As to whether they are suitable for a trip to the local after a day in the mountains, that is completely up to you, taste in fashion is subjective isn’t it?

Lined with Gore-Tex, the TX4 Mid is completely waterproof and allows them to be used in wetter environments as well as during climbing situations. As well as a Gore-Tex membrane, they also feature a full suede leather upper for durability and added water resistance.

A Hybrid Design

Walking shoes, or as they are sometimes called “cross shoes”, are exactly that, a cross between walking boots and trainers, with plenty of variations in between. Some are lighter and more flexible, aimed at runners and those traveling fast and light. Some are designed for those who prefer a more vertical approach, perfect for scrambling and the walk in to climbing routes. Others are based more or less on a walking boot, with just a much lower cut ankle for improved flexibility. Then there are waterproof/none waterproof, speed lacing/traditional lacing, deep chunky sole units/climbing edge shoes…confused, don’t be….it really is a case of what activity you are looking at doing, and what are your preferences when it comes to footwear? Lined with Gore-Tex, the TX4 is completely waterproof and allows them to be used in wetter environments as well as during climbing situations. As well as a Gore-Tex membrane, they also feature a full suede leather upper for durability and added water resistance. The TX line is broken up into three models: TX2, TX4 and TX5, with the number depending on the weight and stiffness of the shoe (TX2 being lightweight). TX4 and TX5 models are also broken up into a low and a mid version, so that you’re able to fine tune the fit, stiffness and weight based on the intended use.
